Join us as we celebrate tremendous projects constructed by our member contractors, who along with their outstanding ready and skilled union workforce, provide the knowledge, skill, professionalism and lasting value that distinguish these successes. Along with the project awards, we recognize the outstanding achievements of young apprentice members of our local building trades as they complete the rigorous preparation to become full journeyman workers. Drinks, food, awards and our always entertaining keynote speakers (Bart Starr, Dick Vitale, Mike Golic, Steve Garvey, and many others) make for a full and fun evening!

The Annual Michiana Builders Association Golf Outing, the region's largest golf outing in the construction industry, is the perfect occasion to enjoy a round of golf with coworkers or to create new relationships within the industry - all outside the office on one of the various professional level golf courses throughout our area. OSHA 10 

(offered online thru Summit Training/ Health & Safety Institute - contact MACIAF to register)

This course provides entry level construction workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint, as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a construction site. Not only do you have 180 days to complete the course at your own pace and on your own schedule, but you can also select your own elective courses to tailor the training to your specific needs.  Upon completion you’ll receive your valid DOL/OSHA 10/30 Hour Card in the mail within six to eight weeks.

OSHA 30 

(offered online thru Summit Training/ Health & Safety Institute - contact MACIAF to register)

This is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone in the construction industry, but is specifically useful for Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, Safety Coordinators, and Safety Specialists. Not only do you have 180 days to complete the course at your own pace and on your own schedule, but you can also select your own elective courses to tailor the training to your specific needs.  Upon completion you’ll receive your valid DOL/OSHA 10/30 Hour Card in the mail within six to eight weeks.

Blueprint Reading

A short 3-hour introduction to basic Blueprint Reading for novice construction professionals. Students will receive a set of actual construction blueprints to follow through the course for a hands-on tour of a building ready for assembly. No previous blueprint reading experience is required! A short, fun, interactive Practice Quiz will be offered at the end of the class for students to demonstrate their comprehension of the basic topics. The basic ability to recognize fundamental documents and basic terminology is necessary in many industries involved in building construction projects, from manufacturing to contracting.
